Guided Tour and Artist Talk: Mine, Yours, Ours

The photographer Anna Forgách will give a guided tour of the exhibition in German.

This will be followed by an open discussion with Ingo Zirks about logotherapy. An insight into the most important principles of this psychological movement and the connection between logotherapy and the exhibited photo series will be explored.

Ingo Zirks - psychologist, psychotherapist (behavioural therapist), existential analyst, logotherapist - is the director of the Berlin Institute of the Academy for Existential Analysis and Logotherapy.

Anna Forgách’s self-reflective, biographical, and narrative works are rooted in logotherapy. The psychological movement, developed by psychiatrist Viktor Frankl, views life as a continuous search for meaning. Logotherapy, derived from the Greek logos (meaning), works primarily with language, which Forgách converts into the language of photography, inventing a sort of ‘image-formulation’. The photographs were created in close collaboration with the participants, who were not only subjects, but also co-creators. This mutual exploration was structured around the method of ‘guided autobiography’ – a self-awareness technique from logotherapy developed by psychiatrist Elisabeth Lukas, a student of Viktor Frankl.
